Limerick Jazz Festival Friends Scheme

The third annual Limerick Jazz Festival will take place on the weekend of September 25 – 28th 2014, and we are delighted to present a programme fit to celebrate Limerick City of Culture 2014.

As in previous years there will be many other free performances across the city over the festival weekend. These include jazz performances and master classes at the Hunt Museum on Saturday afternoon and an expanded Festival Jazz Trail, which means two nights of free music across city pubs and hotels on Friday and Saturday.

Limerick has the most active jazz scene in Ireland outside Dublin. Limerick Jazz Society has been bringing outstanding jazz performances to the city since the 1980s and Limerick Jazz Workshop has been providing jazz education since 2007.

Limerick Jazz Festival is working to capitalize on this track record by creating an event with national reach that will bring visitors to the city and highlight our cultural strengths, such as the fine range of music venues developed in recent years. The successful regeneration of UK cities such as Glasgow and Liverpool shows that a stronger cultural profile has been vital in transforming their image.

The festival is being staged by Limerick Jazz Society and is supported by Limerick City of Culture 2014, Limerick Marketing Company, the Arts Council and Failte Ireland.

To make this all happen we need your support. A typical festival in Ireland is funded equally by grant aid, ticket sales and private financial support. By becoming a friend of the Limerick Jazz Festival you will play a vital role in our success and get to enjoy great music by world-class performers.

To become a festival friend for 2014 costs €400. The benefits are

✓ Priority access to four tickets for Van Morrison

Two complimentary tickets for David Sanborn Trio

✓ Two complimentary tickets for Dublin City Jazz Orchestra

✓ Acknowledgement on the festival website
